What’s the Best Motocycle for Me?

    By Harley | January 29, 2009

So what’s the best bike for you, ultimately it’s all about the price. If you’re like me you’re going to want the most expensive bike out there – but then if you’re like me you have a budget. Just remember, if this is your first bike you’ve got to have extras like helmets, insurance and of course gas to ride it. As pretty as I’m sure that new bike will be to you, sitting in the driveway admiring it is not what you have in mind.

And once again if you’re like most of us, once you get that great bike you’re going to want to add a few things to make it uniquely yours. These things usually begin with extra chrome and leather and end up goodness knows where. So leave yourself a little budget to get those ‘must have’ mods.

Oh and one more thing, some people just have to have brand new bikes. But some of us realize you can buy a whole lot more bike if you let someone else take the initial depreciation hicky. (Just driving a new motorcycle off the show room floor could cost as much as $2000 – depending on the price of the bike. You lose that value because the bike is no long considered new but used.) Buy a well taken care of used bike and if you shop wisely, you can have a sweet ride for a lot less.

After you settle on a price, you’ll need to try a few on. (It’s a dirty job but somebody has to do it.) How’s your reach? Can you comfortably reach the clutch and break – even when you’re cornering? If you’re tall you need to be able to clutch the tank with your legs even when you’re using the pegs, and if you’re short you need to be able to put your feet down when needed to maneuver. Find a bike that fits you.

If you’re looking for a great price on used motorcycles you’ve come to the right place.
